We have recently extended our Network into Social Sports in Australia and New Zealand with teams in Darts, Snooker, Bowling and more. We have always been about more than just an online gaming community, so extending our support into real world social sports seemed to be a natural progression for us as a group.

By supporting Social Sports we are helping to rebuild a once thriving community that has seen a large decline in activity and interest over the years. In part due to the uptake in online activities or lack of exposure and active marketing to draw in new people. Sometimes a perception that you need a deep interest or high skill level to participate in these activities to join a club is a deterrent when they are predominately about getting out and being social.

From our experience these real world games offer opportunities to expand your real social network. You do not need to be a professional player in any social sport as they all have divisions/grades to suit any level. There are also weekend comps that are held regularly for those that want to find out what the environment is like or do not want to commit to a weekly match.

If you are new or learning one of the games there are always people willing to help you out and give tips to improve your game in a much friendlier and less hostile environment. Unlike the internet where people that are learning can be abused or mistreated by a very unforgiving community.

We are not expecting Social Sports within Gungrave Warriors to have a fast development due to teams being localised. Although we do hope we will slowly get some interest or help with rebuilding the Social Sports communities around Australia and New Zealand, even if it’s not under our banner.

We currently support 4 darts teams in the Southern Grampians.

Hamilton Darts District Association Inc, Winter Comp 25 weeks and Summer Comp 11 weeks. (7 players)

Hamilton Teams Event (6 players) (weekend comp in March)

Portland Teams Event, Mens Team (5 players) and a Ladies Team (5 players) (weekend comp in May and August)

We also have 3 teams under discussion.
