BF2 Server Rules
Gungrave Warriors - Server Rules
Spawn Camping
On some maps there are uncappable flags. (Flags which are not possible to capture for the opposing team)
These flags are indicated on your map by a large red circle with a line through the center.
The Spawn Camping rules apply not just to the red circle area but also to the immediate base area around these flags. (See images linked below)
Any uncappable spawn point, heli pad or jet runways are not to be spawn camped with vehicles at anytime.
(The only exception is attacking Anti Air vehicles or emplacements engaging you from the protected zone.)
- Players may enter the opposition's uncappable flag to destroy their assets or to steal vehicles and may also attack with KIT weapons only.
- Although kit weapons are allowed to defend yourself, the use of aircraft or vehicles to attack the uncapp areas is strictly not permitted.
- Aircraft are permitted to engage ground based Anti-Air weapons within an uncappable base. This includes ground and vehicle mounted AA.
- Failure to stop attacking the protected area after the AA has been destroyed will be considered spawn camping.
- A plane or chopper that has returned to the airspace above its uncappable flag, is not protected under the spawn camping rule.
- Once a chopper or jet are in flight and have left the initial protected zone from takeoff, they are then vulnerable at all times.
- "Vultching" or flying a jet behind the protected area, waiting for enemy Jets to takeoff and leave the protected zone, so you can move in for the easy kill;
While technically legal is still considered bad sportsmanship and as such may be dealt with under that rule if considered to be excessive or disruptive.
Disruptive Play
- Players found to be disrupting fair play will be suspended.
- Disruptive play includes but is not limited to: Blocking runways, spamming voice or text, "vultching" etc.
- Other rules relating to Disruptive Play can be found below under: Command and Teamwork, Team Attacking, Stats Harvesting / Hacking & Some General rules
Sportsmanship
- If the uncapable base is the only flag held, sportsmanship is expected to be displayed to allow the other team to regroup.
I.e. defend your position rather than everyone rushing the uncapp on foot; which could then be considered Spawn Camping.
- Lack of sportsmanship may be considered Disruptive play. (e.g. constantly "vultching" aircraft leaving the oppositions uncapp)
- Other rules relating to Sportsmanship can be found below under: Command and Teamwork, Team Attacking & Some General rules
Command and Teamwork
- Commanders are not permitted to be in any attacking vehicle or fixed weapon while commanding and should be focused on helping there team*.
*Commanders are permitted to use transport vehicles (jeep & transport heli) at anytime to move around the map.
*Commanders are permitted to use fixed weapons and even armoured vehicles for self defence or in defence of a flag; if they are the only player in the area or the last one alive.
(Commanders must leave the hardware or transport immediately after transporting/defending themselves or a flag, no sitting in stationary hardware even jeeps & transport heli's or any fixed weapons)
- A Commander should not place artillery on any uncappable spawn area (including runways) if the opposition have no other flag to spawn from.
(Basic rule to encourage fair play - if there is only an uncap left, do not arty it to give them a fighting chance.)
- A Squad should do as there commander has asked and invite any lone wolfs. All players should join a squad when possible to ensure the best gameplay for everyone.
- No locked squads, you will be warned by an admin to unlock the squad or you may be reported if you refuse to allow a player to join.
Team Attacking
- Deliberately shooting another teammate on a FF server is against the rules.
- The deliberate destruction of a teammates vehicles or aircraft is a banable offence.
(This includes destroying vehicles or aircraft if you are not going to reach the vehicle before another player.)
- Placing yourself in a position that leaves no alternative for a teammate other than to unintentionally teamkill you.
(This includes, but is not limited to, deliberately placing yourself in front of, or on top of, a friendly vehicle.)
Team Kill Punishes
- Placing yourself in front of hardware because you didn't get it and punish.
- You should never punish an unintentional teamkill for any reason.
- All !GuN! members are to unassign thier punish buttons.
Stats Harvesting / Hacking
- Stats harvesting is strictly not permitted and as it is in breach of the BF2 R.O.E. players caught will be banned and reported.
- Hacking the game or server in anyway is illegal, players caught will be banned and reported.
(EA have endorsed the banning of all players caught harvesting or hacking.)
- Players must not participate in any action for the sole purpose of gaining stats not in the spirit of the game.
Some General rules
- Be polite, wait your turn, offer rides, support your team mates.
- No offensive names or insulting and harassing other players.
- No exploiting game or map glitches and bugs.
- No spamming text messages or senselessly flooding the chat in any way.
- No deliberately blocking team mates movement in any way (i.e. Stopping in the middle of bridges etc.)
- No camping for planes or vehicles, if you see vehicles are already being manned help your team in another way rather than fighting your teammates for hardware.
- No stealing, attacking, moving or destroying teammates vehicles.
- No team swapping during the middle of a round with the intent of being on the winning team.
- No spawn blocking i.e. placing vehicles over spawn points to prevent the enemy from respawning.
